STATEMENT: Heinrich Border Visit Can’t Erase His Dangerous Record

Albuquerque, NM—U.S. Senate candidate Nella Domenici released the following statement on Martin Heinrich finally visiting the U.S. Southern border, only eight weeks before early voting.

“Martin Heinrich spent years voting against security and safety, only to start acting like he cares weeks before an election because he’s losing to someone who does care,” said Nella Domenici. “Heinrich has actively made our border crisis worse, with a dangerous voting record of opening our border and unleashing cartels and lethal drugs from China into our state.”

Nella continued: “New Mexico families cannot afford the deadly consequences of Heinrich’s record of making communities less safe, allowing cartels to thrive, and pouring illicit drugs onto our streets. New Mexico deserves leaders who show up and offer solutions. We must end the lawlessness at our border, end the human trafficking crisis, and stop the pouring of deadly fentanyl drugs into our communities.”
